Distal bite, 24 year-old woman
24 year-old woman arrived for a consultation regarding her malocclusion. Facial and teeth examination revealed the diagnosis of distal bite, small lower jaw, vertical and horizontal deficiency of upper jaw and a strong chin. The patient was wearing a trainer which kept her lower jaw in a protruded position. After orthodontic setup the patient had acceptable occlusion but was not happy with her face. She decided to choose surgery.
Double jaw surgery and genioplasty was performed. After surgery she is happy with her new and balanced facial profile as well as correct occlusion.
